dream :: Never-ending

February 17, 2008

Wickedly long one this time around. I haven’t had a dream this vivid or long in ages!

It started out, predictably, in a situation I’d rather not mention. Eventually it wound its way over to a Cinema (at around 4 in the morning, inside the dream) where I, unfortunately, lost the person I’d been with, and therefore, had to go about searching the whole place. I met all sorts of people in there including my dad, who wanted to explain something related to foundry by drawing on the theater’s screen, an uncle who lives near my house who just wanted to enquire how I was and I even managed to accidentally call up Ashwin on my dream mobile phone at after 5 (I specifically remember checking the time on my dream watch, which looked hazily like my adidas which, I suppose, to be expected).

Of course, as all of my dreams do, they took a crazy turn soon enough. After leaving the cinema, I was plunged into a mythical world of beasts and demons which just wanted to kill people. The city was a mess, and the roads were destroyed, and I specifically mention the roads because I remember a dream mini-battle with some of these demons and a group of us (don’t know where they came from) where we defeat the baddies by blowing up something like a busted petrol tanker near them. Of course, this resulted in all of us having to climb up a near vertical section of road trying to escape a burning death.

The place I climbed up to appeared to be a village of sorts. The people there were very suspicious of us (I’m one of a group, remember) at first but I suppose they eventually accepted that we weren’t dangerous because I remember seeing a bunch of kids (some of them from my group) literally plucking a little tree out of the ground, together, and dragging it away (presumably to be burned) because it was infested with little beasties.

And somewhere around that point, I woke up, and there were a bunch of guys sitting around my bed chatting. So I sat up saying: “Good lord, you’ll neverĀ  believe the dream I just had!”.

And then, again, I woke up. Only this time, for real. :)

dream :: F.E.A.R.

October 7, 2007

F.E.A.R. is a Horror / Shooter game for those who haven’t heard of it. And if you haven’t, you’re woefully ignorant about the world of gaming. But I’m not here to talk about the game. I dreamed today morning.

I was being tormented by a girl. A scary girl, mind you. For some reason, she was afraid of me too and it seemed to me that she wanted to keep me from getting someplace. I was walking along a corridor, towards that unknown thing which I had to do when this girl, this half rotten (remember The Ring) dark and downright freakishly scary little girl popped out of nowhere. I remember averting my eyes in complete horror, but the interesting thing is that I didn’t wake up. It sort of seemed to me that it was all a game, a computer game and it was like my point of view suddenly got compressed into this monitor and I felt okay again. When I resumed my journey through the corridors, I didn’t feel afraid… well, not that afraid anyway.

I don’t remember any more.

dream :: Dreamer

June 10, 2007

I usually forget all of my dreams. But this one, which I had the before waking up to the day before yesterday stayed in my mind…

It was odd, like most others, but vivid, which happens rarely and I’m not sure how the scenario began, just like all my other dreams.

There we were, me, a girl I like, and a friend from school, walking out of a restaurant which had planted itself where the HM Service Center is at Plamood right now. This dream is set in the future, so I believe the aberration is excusable.

The friend from school whom I mentioned, is for some reason, Anuraj (!) and if memory serves, it was a ‘get-together’ of sorts and I’d taken my girlfriend along with me.

I won’t name this ‘girl that I like’ because I suspect it could turn out to be an unwise move. Suffice to say that she is ‘real’ and I really like her.

Now things start to get crazy.

As we leave the restaurant, there is a minor disagreement with the guard at the restaurant entrance. The sight of me walking arm in arm with a girl out of the restaurant seemed to have offended the man and he came after us to investigate.

I don’t know what this figment of my imagination intended to investigate but perhaps it can be explained as my own sub-subconscious’ surprise at finding myself with a gf. ^_^

To placate the man, I almost angrily told him that she was, in fact, my wife!

Interestingly, when I told the imaginary man so, it became so, in that temporarily reality and I felt surprised at the unexplained change.

That’s when things got even crazier.

The three of us proceeded to get into an auto-rickshaw which seemed to be our medium of conveyance, with Anuraj at the driver’s seat. He, however, failed to control the vehicle to my satisfaction (we’re still in the parking lot) and I quickly took his place.

That is so… me… ^_^

It turned out that I was no better than him since there seemed to be something wrong with the vehicle’s clutch and it kept rolling backwards each time I eased in the clutch and opened up the throttle. I remember screaming (in my head, I presume) for some help from Anuraj in keeping the auto from sliding backwards. But he just sat there stonily, looking offended at my replacing him as the driver. I remember thinking: “God! He’s being such an A-hole!” Nevertheless, I somehow got the auto moving and out of the compound and we headed off towards Pattom, presumably home.

Before we even topped the rise to Pattom junction, the auto is almost flattened by a truck driver who careens into my lane owing to a large tanker that’s lying on its side smack in the middle of the road.

This is where things get ugly.

I saw that petrol (or something of the sort) was spewing out of a gash in the side of the tanker and was raining down on the entire region. Panic set in and the auto-rickshaw which should have been disabled in the crash, metamorphosized into a cycle rickshaw and I found myself cycling away from the ‘disaster-waiting-to-happen’ at top speed. Before I’d managed even a few metres under pedal power, I felt a spark go off somewhere near the tanker and heard the whole thing explode. I could feel the heat of the expanding fireball on my back and I also remember realizing with dismay that I was far too close to the tanker to have any hope of escape.

It also dawned on me that all of this didn’t make any sense.

And I woke up.

There is a hundred dozen points of detail I had to leave out because I simply do not know how to express them in words. Would that my artistic skill been deemed even passable I’d have attempted to recreate some scenes which I remember vividly still. Alas! I cannot draw, and words are not enough to describe that other fleeting, mad, and undeniably exciting world.
